What exactly is L-Theanine?

L-Theanine is an amino acid, notably found in tea. It is well known for its ability to provide relaxation without causing drowsiness. It is very useful when used to take the edge off stimulants such as caffeine to provide a smooth effect. Furthermore L-Theanine is able to improve brain function by increasing alpha wave generation in the brain, which benefits cognition, mood and reduces stress.
