What exactly is Hordenine?

Hordenine, also known as N,N-dimethyltyramine is a natural phenylethylamine-related chemical that occurs in a number of different plants, for example barley grass or bitter orange. It works by releasing and protecting norepinephrine in the brain which increases metabolism and energy. Furthermore Hordenine can be used to improve cognitive function by enhancing mood and focus. This supplement can be used by anyone from bodybuilders to students to someone just trying to lose a bit of weight and get back into shape.

Hordenine is also known to have strong synergy when stacked with phenylethylamine. This is beacause the Hordenine inhibits MAOs in the brain and prevents the phenylethylamine from being broken down so quickly. This allows the phenyethylamine to have a longer and greater effect, and can gives users feelings of energy, increased mood and more concentration.  Caffeine can also be added in to this stack to complement the enhanced mental and physical energy gained from the stack. One of the dangers with this stack is a risk of overstimulation, giving jitters and anxiety. Because of this it is recommended to start the stack with lower doses and work up until you find what works best for you.

I find hordenine works nicely along side coffee or caffeine/theanine capsules to give them an added kick. As mentioned earlier, Hordenine also goes nicely with Phenyethylamine as a preworkout before the gym.
